Piano and Uncle Mike

At Thanksgiving at grandma and grandpa's house Michael was excited to show off his piano songs. It was Uncle Mike's (Grandpa's brother) birthday and Michael insisted on taking Uncle Mike to the piano to play happy birthday. Afterwards, Uncle Mike recounted how it went.

Michael: Do you want me to sing while I play or not?
Uncle Mike: Umm, No singing
Michael: Do you want me to play happy birthday with chords or without chords?
Uncle Mike: Umm, without
Michael: Do you want me to play in the key of G or C?
Uncle Mike: Umm, the key of G

Everyone thought that was hilarious

Santa

Heard Enoch educating Michael and Peter: If Santa is magical, then ghosts and zombies are real!" Not sure what to say to that. Hmmm.. Sam said it might be Enoch's last year believing in Santa😥

Practicing

One of my favorite things is when Michael practices something, gets good at it, and I tell him he did a good job. He always gives me a bashful smile that fills my heart with joy.

Little geniuses

The piano teacher today, Ms Su, told another parent that Enoch and Michael are little geniuses.

Kinder Round up

We went to that kindergarten roundup at mesquite elementary school yesterday. Michael was able to ride school bus and sing wheels on the bus song with the kindergarten teachers there. He was really excited about it! We also stayed afterwards to eat lunch with Enoch at school and I realized that I have not eaten lunch with Enoch at school yet so it was really fun to do that. We will have a first grader and a kindergartner next year;)

Creative builder

Michael is really creative with LEGOs. He built this spaceship and crocodile all by himself.

Don't be selfish!

A couple days earlier we went to Panda Express, Michael ate two egg rolls without asking if it was OK to eat a second and that extra egg roll was supposed to be mine. Today Enoch is sick with ear infection, he didn't eat breakfast, after the doctor appointment , I bought Enoch a chocolate milkshake with three cherries on top. Michael had to be whining and complaining and for the cherry and I told him to not be selfish and think that Enoch is sick. After a while Michael said that Enoch I have two cherries and Peter doesn't get one while he himself gets one cherry... I was rather shocked that this is his decision after thinking about Enoch being sick. I hope that this learning experience will teach Michael to not be so selfish.

Michael, mom and dad love you so much! We hope that when you grow up, you will learn to care for other people, not just yourself, especially your mom and dad and your siblings.

pretending you can't see

Michael, I want you to remember that when you were 4 years old you tried to trick us into believing you couldn't see so that you didn't have to learn how to read. I've been working with you for months now to do your letters and sounds and words and it's been slow going. I've always known you get frustrated, but then one day you said you couldn't see the letters because they were too small. I showed you many different sizes of letters and you said you couldn't see the small ones but could see the big ones. I felt terrible and thought that all your frustrations about learning how to read were because you couldn't see. Mom took you to the eye doctor as soon as possible, and he eventually said that your eyes look perfect. Apparently, at the doctor's office you were saying that you can't even see the largest of letters. However, the doctor dilated your eyes and said everything looks totally normal.

That little lie cost us a $20 copay and a $55 eye exam fee.

I think the whole thing is actually pretty hilarious. You are one crafty little boy and know how to get your way in life.

Different cows make different milk

Michael just told me that : There are three kinds of cows that make different milk. Brown cow makes chocolate milk, red cow makes strawberry milk, and the white cow makes 2% milk and whole milk😂
